We are in search of a qualified consultant or company to conduct an in-depth external midterm review of Trase, aimed at assessing and providing recommendations on the project's effectiveness, coherence and impact.
Trase (www.trase.earth) is a data-driven sustainability transparency initiative that is revolutionizing our understanding of the trade and financing of commodities driving deforestation worldwide. Trase’s unique supply chain mapping approach brings together disparate, publicly available data to connect consumer markets to deforestation and other impacts on the ground. Trase’s open-source tools and actionable intelligence enable companies, financial institutions, governments and civil society organizations to take practical steps to address deforestation. Trase is jointly led by SEI and Global Canopy with many additional partners and close collaborators.
Trase is partly funded by Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative (NICFI) through a 2021-2025 civil society grant. As per grant requirement, SEI is requesting proposals for a Midterm Review on the effectiveness, coherence, and impact of Trase. The review will assess progress since 2021 focusing on a list of review questions, and provide recommendations on how to maximize effectiveness, coherence, and impact of the project and achieve the intended results and outcomes for the remainder of the project.
SEI is looking for a consultant or company to carry out this external review. Trase will provide documents and resources collected with its Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning system, as detailed in the Invitation to Tender. The deliverable is a report of maximum 30 pages excluding annexes.
All applications are due by 29 September 2023.
