Mónica Trujillo

Research Fellow

Mónica Trujillo is a Research Fellow at SEI Latin America. She is currently the project manager of SEI’s Governing Bioeconomy Pathways Initiative and is the leader of SEI Latin America’s bioeconomy research line.

She has more than 15 years of professional experience related to sustainable development strategies based on economic growth and biodiversity conservation. She has worked in agribusiness with producers and enterprises in market intelligence, business plans and public policies in Colombia and Argentina. Her experience in conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity is related to strengthening governance, ecosystem management and articulation with multisectoral public policies and green growth.

Prior to SEI, Mónica worked at Humboldt Institute (Colombia), with a sustainable use project in paramo ecosystem implemented in Colombia, Ecuador and Perú.

Mónica is an economist with master´s degree in Agribusiness and Food. She also has a post graduate degree in International Cooperation and Project management. She joined SEI in August 2020.
