The programme focused on interactions between targets in the water sector and other  sectoral targets in the country’s Sustainable Development Vision 2030. SEI worked with the UN Development Programme and the Mongolian National Development Agency, co-organizing and multi-stakeholder workshop to assess interactions.

Since then, Mongolia applied the approach in a range of processes, including sectoral policy coherence workshops, surveying the state of sustainable development in the country, and drafting Mongolia’s voluntary national review of SDG implementation for the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

This report presents the process followed in Mongolia along with some reflections based on the experience regarding use of the SDG Synergies approach.
