Planning of energy, water and other natural resources still happens mostly in silos, leading to competition, tradeoffs and negative externalities in most regions of the world.

Climate adaptation and mitigation needs to be planned and implemented in a much more integrated fashion.

The immanent transition to renewable energy in West Africa provides opportunities for an integrated, evidence-based approach that is demand driven, designed jointly by scientists and other stakeholders.

This project will bring together science-based climate, water, land and energy information with stakeholder expertise, priorities and needs for a sustainable energy transition.

Key to this will be a dialog platform, a science-stakeholder interface (WEAP and LEAP), an integrated database and process-based scientific models.
