Aaron Atteridge

Aaron Atteridge is an SEI Affiliated Researcher at SEI Asia. He joined the Asia Centre in February 2021.

Aaron has a strong background in environment and development issues. Currently, he is a Senior Climate Change Specialist (consultant) with the World Bank’s Climate Investment Funds working with their Just Transition Initiative, and is also working with local government in Australia on climate resilience planning. Aaron spent more than 10 years with SEI in Stockholm between 2008 and 2020, during which time he worked extensively on issues relating to energy transitions, climate policy, and international climate and development finance. Aaron has worked with adaptation planning and implementation of adaptation projects, including as climate change adviser for the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) based in Fiji from 2013-14, working with the Pacific region’s small island states.

Prior, he has worked in senior policy and executive support roles on climate and energy issues for the Department of Environment and Climate Change in Sydney, Australia, as an environmental engineer for Environment Canada in Vancouver, and in environmental consulting in Australia and the United Kingdom. Aaron has also collaborated with community-based organisations on small scale renewable energy projects in Thailand.
