Ana Bachurova

Ana Bachurova is a Senior Fellow at SEI HQ – Cities, Communities and Consumption Team, Societies, Climate and Policy Support Division. She works primarily within the Financing Urban Transitions programme, with a focus on Net Zero Cities – supporting European cities to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.

Before joining SEI, Ana worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where she managed multiple energy and climate policy initiatives for the countries in the Western Balkans region. Among others, she led the Regional Energy Efficiency Policy Programme and Green City Action Plans. Ana also has experience in development cooperation, having worked for entities such as the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the World Bank.

Ana holds a B.Sc. in environmental and resources management from the Brandenburg University of Technology, and an M.Sc. in environmental governance from the University of Freiburg. She also has an MBA from the Yale School of Management. Most recently, Ana completed a Fulbright/ Hubert Humphrey Fellowship at UC Davis.
